Once again...Tourism Club MMU,Cyberjaya is organising an Adventurous Trip to Taman Negara (National Park) Jerantut,Pahang


Date : 1st - 3rd October 2011
Duration : 3 days 2 nights
Price      : RM 275 for member
              : RM 295 for non-member
              : RM 285 for 4 non-member and above


Availability : 50 people including committees(first come first basis)

Details of the trip
time flow:

Day 1

07:15am: Gather at STAD Building

08:00am: Depart from MMU

01:00pm: Welcome to Taman Negara & check in hotel

01:30pm: Lunch at Floating Restaurant

02:30pm: Ice-breaking & games time

05:30pm: Rest & Preparation of night activity

07:30pm: Dinner at Floating restaurant

-Follow up by Night Jungle Walk & visit to Tahan Hide (wildlife Observation Hide).Experience the wilderness of the flora & fauna in the world’s oldest rainforest.(* wear sport shoe)

Day 2

08:30am: Breakfast at Floating Restaurant

09:30am: -walk on the world’s longest tree hanging bridg, The canopy Walkway. The 45m height & 530 m long bridge allows you to view the richness of the jungle from the summit of the canopy.

-Hiking to Hill Teresek where you will be rewarded with the majestic view of Mount Tahan

01:00pm: Lunch at Floating Restaurant

02:00pm: -Pay a visit to the Orang Asli Settlement. Have a go at their Traditional hunting weapon, blowpipe and learn the jungle survival skill from the People of Rainforest, The Batek Tribe.

-Be prepared to get wet from head to toe as you shooting through the Tembeling River’s raging repids, Rapid Shooting.

07:30pm: -Dinner at the Floating Restaurant

08:30pm: Free and leisure.

Day 3

 08.30am: Breakfast at Floating Restaurant

09:30am: Check out Hotel

10:00am: Leaving Back to MMU

on 1st - 3rd OCT 2011 during semester break just right after the final exam

National Park Jerantut

History:

Covering 4 344 sq km and spread over three states - Pahang, Kelantan and Terengganu - the National Park (Taman Negara) is the oldest tropical rainforest in the world. The 130 million-year-old forest is home to a diverse species of flora and fauna and is a major attraction to nature-lovers as well as fishing and hiking enthusiasts.

As it lies on the top layer vegetation in a forest, you will have an extraordinary view of the land species found there.There are over 10,000 species of plants, 350 species of birds and local mammals including mouse deer, barking deer, tapirs, wild boars, elephants, leopards, tigers, and monkeys.

A visit to Taman Negara, however, is not complete until you have done the canopy walk. The world's longest such walk, it winds over 400 meters in the forest canopy allowing you to view the rich and diverse flora and fauna at the very summit of the forest, 25 meters above the ground.Visitors will find exploring the numerous jungle trails and limestone caves as well as climbing Mount Tahan (Gunung Tahan), the highest peak in Peninsular Malaysia, an exhilarating promotions.
